I am a Humanitas Counselling Intern with a unique combination of adventure and wisdom from my life and business experiences. As a seasoned mountaineer who has conquered the highest peaks in Africa, Asia and Europe, I understand that life's challenges can feel like steep climbs. However, just as I summited many mountains, I believe we can rise above any obstacle, find healing, and flourish in our personal lives, relationships and careers.
As an avid long-distance runner, I understand that healing and personal growth are marathons, not sprints. My journey as a runner has taught me the importance of endurance, perseverance, and setting meaningful goals.
Throughout my life, I have faced and overcome trauma, grief and loss on many fronts. This experience has propelled me to pursue a career in the health profession as a counsellor. I support my clients empathetically, respectfully and with understanding because I have been there.
I have an Honors Degree in Psychology and an Applied Social Sciences Degree from the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP). I conduct counselling on an individual and group basis, specialising in the following:
· - Grief and loss
· - Trauma
· - Relationships
· - Abuse (gender-based violence)
· - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
I believe that life's challenges are like mountains and that counselling helps us to navigate them without losing ourselves. I invite you to partner with me as your Counsellor to find clarity, release, and courage to work towards your healing.
With the blend of a mountaineer's courage, a marathoner's resilience and the wisdom of a business executive, I can partner with you to realise that the power to overcome is already within you.
“We don’t conquer the mountains but ourselves. “Sir Edmund Hillary – (First man to summit Mount Everest)
My life mantra is, "Nobody owes us anything. We owe it to ourselves to be the best we can be.”
