I believe that mental wellbeing is becoming ever more important in todays’ stressful and challenging world. I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelors of social sciences (honours) in psychology at IIE Monash South Africa. I have worked at a center for autistic children and volunteered at SADAG, a school for children with disabilities and at a center for rehabilitation. I am currently working as a trauma counsellor at a hospital and I have my own counselling practice. I am a kind, patient and empathetic person who strives to raise awareness and understanding of the impacts that mental health, stress, grief and trauma can have on a person. I want to provide a safe and trusting environment of unconditional support to anyone who may be struggling or having a difficult time. I’m interested in working and assisting all age groups addressing trauma, bereavement/loss, coping with stress, adjustment difficulties, developmental challenges, self-esteem and building resilience. I have a special interest in working with individuals with chronic pain and coping strategies. The counselling process can help a person heal, grow, empower themselves and cope in order to live their lives as best they can.
