Hello, I'm Cameron! 

My passion for the field was fuelled by the belief that human beings have a deep desire to simply be seen and to be heard by another. I believe in building therapeutic relationships based on empathy, authenticity, and acceptance. I aim to use these attributes to create a safe, client focused space where individuals can freely and fearlessly express themselves, as well as accept, challenge and/or change aspects of their own lives. Carl Rogers once said that "the good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination". It is important to understand that the healing journey is not linear, it encompasses moments of ups and downs and that's perfectly normal. 

I completed both my undergraduate (BA in Psychology) and postgraduate (BAHons in Psychology) degrees at the University of Witwatersrand. It was there that I was fortunate enough to encounter individuals from diverse backgrounds, which provided me with exposure to a variety of life stories and struggles that fuelled my interest in people's life experiences; where they come from, their journey towards where they are now and the meaning they have attached to those experiences. 

I am the eldest of four children, I am passionate about helping others and I grew up in the church where my grandfather preached. I was raised by three beautiful, strong and independent women who instilled within me the value of unconditional acceptance, empathy, and being unapologetically you, which I hope to carry into my therapeutic relationships.
