Nokubongwa Shongwe

Hi there! 

My name is Nokubongwa, and I am a counselling intern with Humanitas. I hold a Bachelor of Social Science Honours from Monash South Africa which cultivated an appreciation for the uniqueness of people and their experiences.

I have always had great interest and passion for understanding people and the mind, as well as, being able to help people with that understanding. I take pride in being able to facilitate this journey, and creating an environment of growth and exploration without judgement. 

I practice the person-centered approach to counselling which allows the client to make use of their own resources and capabilities in taking responsibility for their own lives. My focus for the counselling journey is to provide support and guidance, psychoeducate, create a safe space and ultimately improve on emotional and mental well-being.
