Hello! I am Omashree. I am very passionate about helping people and have a natural curiosity about a persons’ “essence”. Assisting my clients through whatever challenges they are facing, holding the space for them, and listening to them is very important to me. I feel strongly that the foundation of a solid client and counsellor relationship is founded in this type of safe environment which in turn, will assist in promoting growth and transformation. I aim to establish real and deep relationships with my clients through respecting, honouring, and listening to them whilst we take this journey together. In 2017, I went through a massive life changing event (Divorce), making me a single mom to a now teenage daughter. Through my experience, I realised that I wanted to work with people on a more personal level and with this in mind, I completed my BA Honours Degree in Psychology and now, through Humanitas will realise my passion and register with ASCHP to become a Specialist Wellness Counsellor. I am also fluent in English and Afrikaans and feel that this will add to my abilities in assisting my clients across language barriers. Seeking counselling is a very personal, difficult, and scary decision. At times it can even be a very lonely road but the end results of the process is very rewarding and life changing. I aim to help my clients achieve these rewards by walking next to them as they work their way through these “unchartered” waters. “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination” Carl Rogers
