Simone Robinson – Lecturer/ Intern Supervisor

Hi, I’m Simone, but everyone calls me Sim! I’m a fast-talking social worker with a deep passion for meeting people where they are and helping them navigate life’s adventures and challenges.
My journey began with a Bachelor of Social Work, launching my career in court processes and supporting families through major transitions. My early experience at a child protection organization doing statutory work shaped my commitment to supporting children and families. Later, at an NGO, I provided therapeutic support to children who had experienced trauma and abuse. This pivotal work inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work, during which I had the privilege of guest lecturing at Stellenbosch University and establishing my own practice, The Kind Centre.
Through further education in play therapy and forensic social work, I’ve expanded the services offered at The Kind Centre, continuing to help children manage their big feelings, empowering caregivers to build stronger connections with their children, and guiding professionals in adopting more child-centered approaches to their work.
Today, I provide play therapy for children, conduct forensic investigation, provide one-on-one coaching and consulting for parents, and offer educational resources for professionals through courses and supervision. I also lecture and supervise the next generation of professionals—all while working toward my PhD in Social Work.
