About the Presenter

Hello! I’m Tyla, a Specialist Wellness Counsellor registered with the ASCHP (SWC24/5053). After completing my honours degree in psychology, I pursued additional training through the Humanitas counselling course. This experience allowed me to work with individuals of various ages and needs.
I am currently working in various corporate companies around the Western Cape and in private practice, and I spend my free time volunteering at a counselling centre with children, teenagers, and adults in different walks of life. While I enjoy working with all challenges, I noticed an incredibly strong emotion that was prominent in most of my clients – anger.

This emotion interested me, as there are so many ways to feel and express it, making it uncommon to see two clients presenting with the same experience with anger.
My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and practical strategies tailored to each client’s needs. I truly believe in the importance of non-judgemental, warm counselling while also being open to more assertive approaches.

Learning from my diverse experience has enabled me to formulate a general understanding of complex topics that can be used and altered for each client.
